Man injured in 81 crash

A 21-year-old Warren, Ill., man was injured in a crash on Wisconsin 81 in the Town of Elk Grove Dec. 30.

Michael J. Thompson was driving west on 81 around 5:05 a.m. when he lost control on the slippery road, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department. The car went into the eastbound-lane ditch, overturned and ended up on its roof.

Thompson was taken by Platteville EMS to Southwest Health Center.

Thompson was cited for failure to keep a vehicle under control.

The Platteville Fire Department assisted at the scene.

•    A 37-year-old Platteville man was ticketed for drunk driving after a crash on Lafayette County Q in the Town of New Diggings Jan. 1.

Eric M. Redfearn was driving on Q around 6 a.m. when he lost control of his pickup truck and slid into the ditch, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department.

Neither Redfearn nor his passenger, Justin S. Keeran, 22, Belmont, were injured.

Redfearn was also jailed on a Department of Corrections probation hold. He was sentenced to three years in prison and three years extended supervision in 2009 on a charge of misappropriating identity information to obtain money.
