The Driftless Area Land Conservancy is seeking public comment for its first accreditation through the Land Trust Accreditation Commission.

Driftless Area Land Conservancy is a nonprofit conservation organization based in Dodgeville that is dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the health, diversity and beauty of Southwest Wisconsin’s natural and agricultural landscape though permanent land protection and restoration, and improving people’s lives by connecting them to the land and to each other.

The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts an extensive review of each accreditation applicant’s policies, programs and practices. The accreditation program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands, forever.

The Commission is seeking signed, written comments on how the conservancy complies with national quality standards that address ethical and technical operation of a land trust. For the full list of standards see www.landtrustaccreditation.org/tips-and- tools/indicator-practices.

To learn more about the accreditation program and to submit a comment, visit www.landtrustaccreditation.org, or email comments to info@landtrustaccreditation.org. Comments may also be faxed or mailed to the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, Attn: Public Comments, faxed to (518) 587-3183 or mailed to 36 Phila St. Suite 2, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 by May 28.
