John Symons, of Gratiot, and his wife received a rare visitor on Saturday morning, Aug. 15; a bobcat appeared in their front yard around 7:30 a.m.
    “I think he was looking for a rabbit,” said Symons, who added that the animal wasn’t too shy and came within 15 feet of their house that morning.
    Symons said the animal looked to be about 18-20 inches tall and around 25-30 pounds.
    “We slowly opened the door and he showed no fear,” said Symons. “When I rapped on the window, he looked over and just continued on.”
