Gays Mills native Donna Bell-Olson is running for a second term as Mayor of Stoughton, Wisconsin.

Bell-Olson is the daughter of Darrel and Iliff (Ritchie) Bell, both deceased. Her brother, Denny, Rick, and Dean, and sister Debra still live in Gays Mills. Her brother Don lives in Mt. Horeb. Several aunts and uncles, maternal and paternal, live in the area.

Bell-Olson grew up on a dairy farm outside of Gays Mills. She and husband Randy Olson met in high school and married in 1977. They have two daughters, Andrea and Jessica.

Olson began working for the City of Stoughton in 1995 as a part-time receptionist and then full-time in the clerk’s office in 1996. In 1997, she became the Administrative Assistant to the Mayor. She was elected Mayor of Stoughton in 2010.

Olson’s husband Randy has served as the President of the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce for the last three years.
