Two-vehicle crash reported in Readstown

A child was taken to Vernon Memorial Hospital for observation June 15 following a two-vehicle crash at approximately 4:15 p.m. in the village of Readstown.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, Brittney Lu Ronnfeldt, 24, of Sunset Lane, Boscobel, was operating a car southbound on State Hwy. 131, approaching the intersection of US Hwy. 14.  Ronnfeldt said she looked behind her because she thought her daughter, age 19 months, may have been choking.  The front of the Ronnfeldt vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Kristopher King, age 36, of N. Michigan Street, Prairie Du Chien, King was making a right turn onto US Highway 14, from State Highway 131.

After being taken to Vernon Memorial, the child in the Ronnfeldt vehicle was released.

The child was restrained in a child safety seat.  All others were wearing seat belts and no other injuries were reported.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Readstown Fire Department and Readstown Ambulance.

The accident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
