Betty Gates, 83, of Warren, Ill., passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014 after a four-year battle with cancer. Betty was born on Oct. 8, 1930, at home in Rawlins Township near Galena, the daughter of Harry and Neva (Schuler) Hartwig, Sr.

The visitation was held on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at the Bartell Leamon Funeral Home. Betty was a member of Warren United Methodist Church, where the funeral was held on Saturday, May 3 at 10:30 a.m. She was interred at Elmwood Cemetery.  Immediately following interment, lunch was served at the church.

Donations in memory of Betty may be given to the Warren United Methodist Church.
