James M. Krueger, age 66 years, of rural Hillsboro, Wis., passed away on Friday, Aug.  22, 2014 at his home.

He was born on Jan. 22, 1948 to Harvey and Beatrice (Broderick) Krueger at Oshkosh.  He grew to adulthood at Omro.  James is a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1965 to 1969.

James was united in marriage to Linda May on July 3, 1971 in Omro.  They moved to Burr Ridge, rural Hillsboro in 1976 and established their home on a dairy farm they purchased and raised their family.  In addition to farming he was also active in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kendall, serving as Usher, as a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion and served as Town Chairman from 1991 to 1995.  But most of all he enjoyed his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; six children, Marie (Dave) Cobb of Denver, Bill (Sarah) Krueger of Hillsboro, James (Tara) Krueger of Cuba City, Troy Krueger of Minot, North Dakota, Mark Krueger of La Crosse and Katie Krueger of La Crosse; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Lydia, Daniel, Ruth Anne, Joseph, Dawson and Savannah; seven brothers and sisters, Judy Hanson, Sally Viertel, Dan Krueger, Patty Viertel, Tom Krueger, William Krueger and Lee Krueger; and his mother-in-law, Evelyne May.  He was preceded in death by his Parents and father-in-law, William May.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 Madison Ave., Omro, WI.  Burial with military rites took place at the St. Thomas Cemetery, Poygan, WI.  Friends called at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m., with a KC Rosary at 7 p.m.  For online information go to www.pichafuneralhomes.com
