Karen M. Minett, age 70 years, of Union Center, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Heritage Manor in Elroy, Wisconsin.

She was born on June 5, 1943 to Robert and Helen (Orsburne) Fanta at Hillsboro.  She grew to adulthood in the Dilly area and graduated from the Hillsboro High School.

Karen was united in marriage to Darold D. “Dick” Minett on Dec. 31, 1961 in Richland Center.  They lived in Kenosha, Elroy and for many years in Union Center.  She enjoyed babysitting children, scrapbooking and more recently being on Facebook.

Survivors include her husband, Dick; sons, Dean (Kerri) and Derek (Dawn); and five Grandchildren, all of Union Center; sisters, Shirley Husom of Hillsboro, Mary Lou Filter of Kenosha and Linda (Geno) Rosko of Wonewoc; brothers, Robert Fanta of Richland Center and Ronald (Jeanette) Fanta of Marshfield and brother-in-law, Ron Hatfield of Hillsboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Cheryl Jean Fanta, Barbara Hatfield and Betty Douglass; brother, Ernest “Dick” Fanta; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Fanta and brothers-in-law, Lenis Husom, Bill Douglass, Merlyn Huebel and Bennie Filter.

Memorial Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro.
