CUBA CITY – The regular season schedule is officially in the books for the Lancaster girls’ golf team, who competed at the SWC/SWAL conference meet held last Wednesday at Cole Acres Golf Course in Cuba City.

At Wednesday’s conference championship, coach Andy Haas’ squad finished second with a team score of 432, finishing 23 strokes behind Wisconsin Dells and just one strike ahead of Southwestern/Cuba City/Benton.

Claiming medalist honors was Lancaster senior Margot Dhyanchand, who shot an 18-hole score of 92 with identical nine-hole rounds of 46.

The Lancaster senior is also this week's Suppz.com SWNews4U Athlete of the Week.

Dhyanchand finished two strokes ahead of Prairie du Chien senior Camryn Knapp and four strokes ahead of Benton junior Elle Addie and Wisconsin Dells senior Olivia Hilgeman.

Finishing sixth of 25 competitors was Lancaster junior Eliza Haas with an 18-hole round of 103, while senior teammate Greta Jensen finished tied for 13th with her round of 114, senior Lily Vesperman tied for 19th with a 123 and junior Peyton Kipper 21st with a 125.

In the final conference standings, coach Haas’ squad finished second with 28.5 conference points, 4.5 points behind the conference champs from Wisconsin Dells and six points ahead of third-place SW/CC/B.

Four member of Lancaster’s team concluded the regular season with all-conference honors, including Dhyanchand, who finished as the SWC/SWAL Player of the Year.

Dhyanchand concluded the season with 171.5 conference points and had earned medalist honors in four of the six meets this season. Her nine-hole conference average of 45.7 this season was significantly better than last year’s average of 46.6.

“Margot has worked so hard throughout her high school career and her golf game just continues to improve and evolve,” said coach Haas. “She entered the season with expectations of being at the top of the conference, and that pressure never phased her.”

“Margot has rightfully earned the conference MVP title and we’re so happy for her,” coach Haas added. “She is such a joy to have leading our team and sets a great example for our younger golfers. This accolade will help propel her into our postseason.”

Earning second-team all-conference honors from Lancaster were Eliza Haas and Greta Jensen, Haas with 120.5 conference points and Jensen with 105.5.

Haas also concluded the regular season with a nine-hole conference average of 54.3, a significant improvement from last year’s average of 59.2, while Jensen’s average of 56.8 this season was slightly higher than last year’s average of 55.7.

Lancaster junior Peyton Kipper concluded the regular season with honorable-mention honors, earning 87 points and finishing with a nine-hole average of 57.6, which was nearly identical to last year’s average of 57.8.

Coach Haas and his Flying Arrows competed in the D2 Evansville Regional Wednesday, at the Evansville Golf Course. Dhyanchand shot a 93 to finished fifth and lead the Flying Arrows (438) to a fourth place team finish behind Edgewood (357), Wisconsin Dells (426), Portage (428).

Dhyanchand earned one of the three individual qualifying spots for Monday's Prairie du Chien Sectional.

The top three teams at the regional meet advance to sectionals, along with the top three individuals who are not members of a qualifying team.

HONORABLE MENTION (in alphabetical order):
Liam Carey, Jr., QB/DB, Mineral Point football
Carey complete 15 of 25 passes for 242 yards and three TDs, and rushed for a team-high 39 yards and another touchdown to lead the Pointers (4–2, 1–2 SWAL) to a 28–18 SWAL victory over Southwestern/East Dubuque (0–6, 0–4) last Friday night.

Noah Copsey, Sr., RB/DB, River Ridge football
Copsey rushed for a game-high 166 yards and one touchdown, and recorded five tackles in the #9-ranked Timberwolves' 39–26 Six Rivers Conference victory over #5-ranked Iowa–Grant (4–2, 3–1) last Friday night.

Connor Doyle, Jr., RB/DB, Benton/Scales Mound/Shullsburg football
Doyle rushed for 183 yards and two scores, caught a team-high four passes for 54 yards and a 9-yard TD, and recorded two tackles to lead the Knights (5–1, 2–1 SWAL) to a 26–14 win over Cuba City (4–2, 2–2) last Friday night.

Ruah Franzmann-Simmert, Sr., Tri-State Home School
Franzmann-Simmert placed second out of 254 runners in the girls’ varsity race at last Saturday’s Janesville Craig Midwest Invitational with a time of 17:46.9 behind only Neenah sophomore Sam Zilm (17:39.2).

Bradley Lancaster, Sr., LB/FB, Belmont football
Playing with a cast on his broke right hand, Lancaster posted a team-high 15 tackles and helped junior halfback Oliver Harcus rush for a game-high 79 yards and a touchdown as the Braves' lead blocker in last Friday's 22–0 shutout of second place North Crawford (4–2, 4–1 R&V8).

Dax Paquin, Jr., LB/FB, Black Hawk/Warren football
Paquin rushed for 166 yards and a career-high five touchdowns in Black Hawk/Warren's 50–14 win over visiting Pecatonica/Argyle (3–3, 1–3) last Friday night. Paquin leads the Warriors with 692 yards and 12 TDs on 84 carries in six games this year.

Avery Richard, Sr., OH, Platteville volleyball
Platteville senior Avery Richard made a team-high 17 digs in last Tuesday’s sweep of River Valley and in the process recorded her 1,000th career digs. Richard (1,026 career digs), who was named the 2025 SWC Player of the Year, joined 2015 gradute Briette Updike (1,856 career digs) and 2021 graduates Izzy Caroll (1,320) and Becca Hoyer (1,012) in Platteville’s 1,000-dig club over the past two decades. Richard went on to post 9 kills and 12 digs in Thursday's 25–13, 25–16, 25–13 sweep at Lancaster.

Hunter White, Sr., RB/DB, Potosi/Cassville football
White rushed for a game-high 226 yards and three touchdowns, and recorded seven tackles to lead the Chieftains (4–2, 3–1 SRC) to a 32–14 Six Rivers Conference victory over visiting Wauzeka–Steuben/Seneca (0–5, 0–4) in last Friday's Cassville Homecoming game.
