The Viterbo University volleyball team has been playing on the biggest stage this past week and on Dec. 5, Julie Stekel (SR/Hillsboro, Wis.) joined 453 other student-athletes as Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must be of junior standing or above and maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Stekel holds a 3.74 grade point average and will graduate with a major in Accounting.
Stekel saw action in 78 sets this season and landed seven service aces. The senior also dug up 66 attacks and had a serve receive percentage of .914 as the V-Hawks reached the NAIA National Tournament Final Four for the first time in school history.
