SENECA-WAUZEKA-STEUBEN - There are some games you’d just like to forget and that’s probably how most of the Seneca-Wauzeka-Steuben football team were feeling Friday night after they ran into a buzz saw at Ithaca last Friday.

How bad was it? It was 46-6 bad…much worse than 24-14 regular season loss that just got away from the SWS. This was a shellacking. The Bulldogs mauled the visiting Blue-Golds.

For the game, Ithaca had 28 first downs and SWS had six. The Bulldogs ran for 382 yards on 60 carries, while the ran for hjust 44 yards on 20 carries.

Passing yardage looked about even but actually it wasn’t when you looked at it closer. SWs gained 100 yards passing and Ithaca had 107. The thing was Ithaca gained 107 yards completing as quarterback Parker Hisel was 5-5 with no interceptions. SWS was 6-17 with one interception

The Blue-Golds also turned the ball over on a fumble.

SWS had four penalties for 40 yards and Ithaca had five penalties for 50 yards.

The Blue-Golds only score came on a 53-yard touchdown run by quarterback Carter Lomas.

“This game was a tough loss, but the team fought hard throughout the game just like they did all year,” SWS head coach said later. “A big thank you to our seniors for everything they have done for this program the past four years. I would also like to thank all the fans for supporting us all year.”

It was a tough way to end what had become a pretty good season for the Blue-Golds.
