Fennimore graduate hits bases-clearing triple in 74 loss

Fennimores Jordan Williams (far left) played in the American Legion All-Star game at Miller Park on Sunday following the Milwaukee Brewers game against the Cincinnati Reds. Williams went 1-for-2 with a walk, a triple and three RBIs for the Coulee Region All-Stars in a 74 loss. Members of the Coluee Region All-Star team were (from left) Williams, Jordy Albrecht (Tomah), Zach Earll (Onalaska), Kyle Gilbertson (La Crosse Post 52), Dalton Hoff (La Crosse North Stars), Austin Braund (Holmen), Kory Vold (Viroqua), Tommy Johnson (Gays Mills) and Chas Sagedahl (Prairie du Chien).

MILWAUKEE — Fennimore’s Jordan Williams closed out the 2017 American Legion baseball season by playing in the Legion State All-Star Game Sunday at Miller Park in Milwaukee, following the Brewers game versus the Cincinnati Reds. 

Williams played center field for the Coulee Region All-Stars in a 7–4 loss. His bases clearing triple in the fourth inning tied the game.

He also reached on a fielder’s choice and walked.

Other members of the Coulee Region All-Star team included Chas Sagedahl (Prairie du Chien), Jordy Albrecht (Tomah), Zach Earll (Onalaska), Kyle Gilbertson (La Crosse Post 52), Dalton Hoff (La Crosse North Stars), Austin Braund (Holmen), Kory Vold (Viroqua), Tommy Johnson (Gays Mills).

Williams led the Fennimore American League post 184 to a winning record this summer and fourth-place finish at the Prairie du Chien Legion regional tournament in mid-July.

Williams led Fennimore High School to an 18–6 overall record this spring, and a second-place 11–3 mark in the Southwestern Wisconsin Activities League. He was one of four Golden Eagles to earn first-team All-SWAL honors.

 

Williams recently announced his commitment to play baseball at Madison Area Technical  College next year.
