NORTH CRAWFORD - The North Crawford boys basketball team lost their first game of the season breaking a six-game winning streak when the lost a non-conference game to Viroqua 52-33.

That score might be a bit misleading. It was a back-and forth game into the second half. With 12 minutes left in the game the Trojans tied the game 27-27 on a three-pointer from guard Quentin Lathrop. On the next possession Lathrop picked up his fourth foul and had to go to the bench. Viroqua went on a 10-0 run over the next two minutes and North Crawford was unable to recover. Viroqua outrebounded the Trojans 30-20 and took 20 more shots than North Crawford as they capitalized on 19 Trojan turnovers.

“Their length and size really wore us out in the second half,” north Crawford head coach Chris Wettstein said later.

Sophomore guard Stephen Munson led the team in scoring with 15 points, while Lathrop scored 12 including three three-pointers.

Rounding out the scoring for the Trojans were Tayler Peery, Grady Stovey and Brandon Larson with two points each.
