The Wisconsin Army National Guard’s 229th Engineer Company is back in the U.S. after its tour of duty in Afghanistan.

The guard unit, based in Platteville and Prairie du Chien, left for Afghanistan in September.

The unit is currently in the midst of demobilization, according to Maj. Paul Rickert, Wisconsin National Guard director of public affairs. An announcement about their return to Wisconsin is expected sometime this week.
