THE HILLSIDE E-CIG SHOP opened for business on June 28 on Highway 61 between Boscobel and Fennimore, with owners Darcie Cisneros and Lisa Kreul selling two brands of electronic cigarettes, Tececig and Ego.

The Kreul family has been well known for their Hillside Greenhouse just south of Boscobel on Highway 61. However, now Lisa Kreul and her sister-in-law Darcie Cisneros have come together to open the first electronic cigarette store in the area, Hillside E-Cig Shop. The two owners will be selling two brands of electronic cigarettes: Tececig and Ego.

“We decided to sell this product because we need something like this in our area,” Kreul said. “Prior to this business we had to drive to Dubuque to get anything that we needed.”

Tececig will be the main brand of cigarette in their store. The reason behind this is because it does not contain the 4,000 poisonous chemicals that regular cigarettes contain. Some of the other benefits that come with buying a Tececig versus a pack of traditional cigarettes is you will no longer smell like smoke and you can pick your own strength and flavor of cigarette. Flavors include

The Tececig also is guaranteed to leave the customer satisfied.

“The Tececig is not the same as a gas station r-cig,” Cisneros said. “It is filled with quality liquids and has a 100 percent guarantee on a battery as long as they are not damaged.”

The starter package of a Tececig would cost $49.99, which includes two batteries, a warranty, wall charger, usb charger, a case and five cartomizers. One cartomizer equals one pack of cigarettes and costs $2.99. The other option for a starter package is with the Ego e-cig, which includes a battery tank and charger. The customer would have to purchase the cartomizer separately, which would bring the cost to around $30. However, there is no guarantee with the Ego cigarette if it were to stop working.

“I smoke the Tececig and I no longer feel like I am even a smoker,” Cisneros said. “I feel 100 percent better and do not smoke as often as I used to.”

When people come in and purchase a Tececig, the ladies will take the time to show them how to take care of the product. If the product is not taken care of properly, the warranty will no longer be able to be used.

Cleaning products

E-cigs will not be the only thing available at the shop. They will also be selling a line of Mrs. Meyers cleaning chemicals. The product line was inspired by Mrs. Thelma A. Meyer, an Iowa homemaker and mother of nine. She decided to start the line when one of her daughters was walking down a cleaning aisle eyeing all the products with their harsh chemicals. At that moment she decided to make cleaners that smell nice, like her mother’s garden, but still worked like a “Dickens on daily dirt and grime.”

Mrs. Meyer’s collection of household products is made with essential oils from flowers, herbs and vegetables. They come in seven different scents including, lavender, lemon, verbena, basil, geranium and others. All of her products are earth-friendly, cruelty-free and not tested on animals.

The E-cig store will handle Mrs. Meyer’s products that include hand soaps and refills, window cleaners, counter cleaners, air and room fresheners, bathroom cleaners, daily bar soap, and liquid dish soap.

“I know there are a lot of people out there who worry about their kids getting into chemicals and this is something safe at an affordable price,” Kreul said.

Kreul recommends Mrs. Meyer’s product over any other not just because it is safer for everyone, but also because it works better than the competing brands.

“I don’t care what anyone says, I can guarantee that the window cleaner by Mrs. Meyer’s would clean better than Windex,” Kreul said.

The shop is preparing to open its doors to the community on Saturday, June 28 at 10 a.m. Following that the store will be open Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The store is located at 15105 US Highway 61 South, Boscobel, WI 53805. If interested in hearing more about the e-cigarettes or cleaning products, feel free to contact Lisa or Darcie at (608) 485-2951. When purchasing their products, they only accept credit card or cash.

Their goal is to get people to smoke cleaner, safer and more economically.
