Southwest Health was recognized when the Jackson Group, a North Carolina-based survey services and consulting firm, presented the health care network with the Laureate Award for Workplace Excellence July 16.

The Laureate Award for Workplace Excellence was bestowed on Southwest Health in recognition of high scores on work climate surveys. The scores were given by Southwest Health’s own employees, who rated factors that create a healthy and engaging workplace. The Laureate Award is given only after certifying high survey results and reviewing the organization’s internal work plans for constantly improving the workplace.

Fewer than 5 percent of healthcare organizations The Jackson Group surveys qualify for the honor.

“At Southwest Health our patients are always our number one priority,” said CEO Dan Rohrbach. “Yet we also know that when our employees feel great about coming to work, we optimize the quality of patient care we provide. That’s why we’re especially proud to be honored in this way. It means our employees feel positive about where they work, and that translates to better health care.”

“The results of the 2015 survey were evidence of efforts made by Southwest Health’s Leadership to invest in the human capital of their healthcare organization by making sound management decisions that have been well received by both employees and leaders,” said Alan Jackson, president of The Jackson Group. “Through these efforts, it is apparent that leadership has built a very positive work climate.”

Southwest Health is celebrating the award organization-wide today.
