The Benton woman arrested after a search warrant was executed at a Benton house Sept. 16 will have a preliminary hearing on four felony charges in Lafayette County Circuit Court in Darlington Oct. 2.

Patricia A. McLain, 54, faces four counts of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, along with misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lafayette County sheriff’s deputies, the Richland–Iowa–Grant Drug Task Force, and Iowa County Sheriff’s K-9 Rosko executed a search warrant on a Benton house Sept. 16 around 11:15 a.m. The search discovered “a significant amount of marijuana,” according to a Sheriff’s Department news release.

The search warrant was preceded by a search of an Iowa County location, which revealed the involvement of McLain, the news release said.

The preliminary hearing will be held Oct. 2 at 10:30 a.m. McLain is free on a $5,000 signature bond. She faces a maximum of 40 years in prison and $100,000 in fines on each felony charge if convicted.
