Drug raid jury trials to start in July

Jury trials in Grant County Circuit Court are tentatively scheduled for July, August and September for the 21 defendants in the May 2 Platteville drug raids.

A status conference was held this week for Troy J. Frederick, 20, Eau Claire, on three counts of manufacture and delivery of THC (marijuana). Trial on the three charges is set for the week of July 3.

Michael G. Sahs, 21, Winfield, Ill., pleaded not guilty May 30 to three counts of manufacture and delivery of marijuana and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Trial on the four charges are set for the week of July 31, with the status conference July 17.

Peter A. Wycklendt, 21, Waukesha, pleaded not guilty May 30 to three counts of manufacture and delivery of marijuana. Trial is scheduled for the week of July 31, with the status conference July 17.

Nicholas R. Rosenthal, 21, Galena, pleaded not guilty May 30 on a charge of possession of cocaine. The trial is set for the week of July 31, with a status conference July 17. The maximum penalty is 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.

Craig A. Wilson, 19, Madison, pleaded not guilty May 30 on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Wilson also faces three counts of manufacture and delivery of THC. Trial is set for the week of July 31, with the status conference July 17.

Ashley K. Kloss, 21, Ixonia, faces three counts of manufacture and delivery of THC, four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count of possession of marijuana. Her trial is set for the week of July 31, with the status conference July 17.

Ross A. Kopiske, 22, Larsen, pleaded not guilty May 30 to one count of manufacture and delivery of THC. Trial is set for the week of July 31, with the status conference July 17.

Ian D. Erickson, 21, Platteville, pleaded not guilty May 30 to one count each of manufacture and delivery of THC, possession of marijuana and possession of THC. Trial is set for the week of July 31, with the status conference July 20.

Michael J. DePons, 21, Platteville, will be tried on each of the three counts of manufacturing and delivery of THC (marijuana) the week of Aug. 7. A status conference on the charges is scheduled for July 17.

Cole D. Durdan, 21, Platteville, will be tried on each of the three counts of manufacturing and delivery of THC (marijuana) the week of Aug. 7. A status conference on the charges is scheduled for July 17.

Andrew J. Fells, 24, Platteville, pleaded not guilty May 25 to a charge of manufacture or delivery of THC. Trial is set for the week of Aug. 7, with the status conference July 17.

Daniel Jz Panella, 22, Oconomowoc, will be tried on charges of possession with intent to delivery marijuana and manufacture and delivery of marijuana the week of Aug. 7. A status conference on the charges is scheduled for July 17.

Gregory J. Becker, 22, Hales Corners, will be tried on each of the three counts of THC manufacturing and delivery the week of Aug. 28. A status conference on the charges is scheduled for Aug. 14. Becker also will make his initial appearance on three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of marijuana June 25.

Ryan Bailey Whitehead, 21, New Glarus, pleaded not guilty June 4 to four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count each of possession of amphetamines or LSD, possession of an illegally obtained prescription, and possession of THC. Trial on the charges is set for the week of Aug. 14, with the status conference Aug. 1.

Jared A. Otto, 21, Brookfield, pleaded not guilty June 11 to three counts of manufacture and delivery of THC. Trial is set for the week of Aug. 14, with the status conference Aug. 1.

Wesley L. Ertmer, 20, Platteville, will be tried on each of the three counts of THC manufacturing and delivery Aug. 28 and Sept. 4. A status conference on the charges is scheduled for Aug. 14.

Randall R. Runge, 23, Walworth, will be tried on three counts of manufacture and delivery of THC and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia Aug. 28 and Sept. 4, with the status conference Aug. 14.

Ryan L. Schlosser, 22, Skokie, Ill., will be tried on one count of manufacture and delivery of THC and one count of possession of marijuana the week of Sept. 25, with the status conference Sept. 11. Schlosser pleaded not guilty to the possession charge May 30.

A status conference for Austin S. Krueger, 21, Platteville, was held this week on three counts of manufacturing and delivery of THC. Krueger also was arraigned on misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The maximum penalty per count for the marijuana delivery charges is 3½ years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Chelsey M. Austin, 21, Platteville., is being arraigned this week on a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Natalie Rose Costello-Mikecz, 21, Milwaukee, will be arraigned July 2 on two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of amphetamines or LSD.

An arrest warrant remains outstanding for Kamal T. Abdelrahim, 22, Milwaukee, on a charge of manufacture and delivery of THC.

The arrests were the result of a 10-month-long investigation by the Richland–Iowa–Grant Drug Task Force that included drug sales to undercover officers between June 2011 and April 11.

The raids and arrests were conducted by Platteville, Dodgeville and Richland Center police; UW–Platteville police; the Grant, Iowa and Richland county sheriff’s departments; and the state Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation.
