Friday search warrant results in arrest

    An on-going investigation conducted in cooperation between the Argyle Police Department and the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office led to the execution of a search warrant the morning of Friday, June 12 at a residence on Valley Road in Argyle Township.
    The search warrant resulted in the arrest of Anthony John Nolan. Nolan, a convicted felon, was found to be in possession of numerous firearms along with a very large supply of ammunition, according to a press release from the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department. Illegal narcotics and evidence of illegal drug use were also seized during the execution of the search warrant.
    Members of the Monroe Police Department / Green County Sheriff’s Office / Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Jurisdictional Emergency Response Team executed the search warrant and were provided assistance by the Beloit Police Department and Rock County Sheriff’s Office with personnel and equipment. Further assistance was provided by the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations, Argyle EMS and the Argyle Fire Department.
    Nolan faces charges of a Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Illegal Narcotics. Nolan remains in custody in the Lafayette County Jail pending further investigation.
    The Argyle Police Department and Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office detectives are continuing their investigation.
