A 20-year-old Montfort man was arrested for drunk driving and three other charges after a crash in the Town of Wingville early Sunday morning.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Department and Fennimore police responded to a crash on Grant County G near Crow Valley Road around 4:10 a.m. Officers got a report that the driver of the vehicle in the crash had been picked up by another vehicle.

After officers found the vehicle, the driver in the crash, Chad Skaife, was arrested after a brief struggle with officers, according to the sheriff’s department.

Skaife’s pickup truck went into the ditch after Skaife swerved to avoid hitting a deer, according to the sheriff’s department.
In addition to drunk driving, Skaife was charged with resisting arrest, minor transporting intoxicants in a motor vehicle, and underage drinking.

The person who picked up Skaife, Alex Riemenapp, 21, Montfort, was arrested for first-offense drunk driving.

Riemenapp’s passenger, Alexis Pascoe, 20, Dickeyville, was cited for underage drinking.
