Three arrested following pursuit

TOWN OF JAMESTOWN—The Grant County Sheriff’s Department assisted the Dubuque Police Department in the pursuit of a vehicle suspected to be involved in a theft incident in the city of Dubuque on Sunday, July 10.

According to the release from Grant County Sheriff Nate Dreckman, at approximately 11:45 a.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Department was notified of a traffic pursuit entering Wisconsin on Hwy. 151.

A Grant County deputy was able to get behind the suspect vehicle on Hwy. 151 as the vehicle exited at Badger Road in the town of Jamestown. The vehicle continued to attempt to elude the officer on Badger Road, eventually driving into the Birchwood Golf Course parking lot. The driver of the suspect vehicle, Donta Lockhart, 24 of Milwaukee, stopped the car and took off running. He was apprehended a short time later by a Wisconsin State Patrol inspector as Lockhart came out of the woods onto Eagle Point Road.

There were two female passengers in the vehicle, Lametta Cooper, 25 of Milwaukee, and Shaquea Rhodes, 22 of Milwaukee. Both women were taken into custody without incident.

The releases stated that the three suspects had stolen a “considerable amount of merchandise from a retail store in Dubuque.” The vehicle was also reported stolen in a strong arm robbery in the city of Milwaukee by armed suspects.
Lockhart faces charges of eluding an officer, felon in possession of a firearm, vehicle theft and receiving stolen property. Cooper faces charges of operating a vehicle without consent as a passenger. Rhodes faces charges of vehicle theft and receiving stolen property.

All three are being held in the Grant County jail pending a court appearance.
