Platteville High School second in UWPlatteville math contest

Earlier this month, approximately 650 students from 40 high schools from all around the area competed in the 42nd annual Math Contest hosted by the UW–Platteville Mathematics Department.

The top three teams in each division were awarded plaques.

The official results included:
Division 1: 1, Iowa City West; 2, Des Moines Roosevelt; 3, Dubuque Senior.
Division 2: 1, Dubuque Wahlert; 2, Platteville; 3, Western Dubuque.
Division 2 individual award winners: Platteville: Cameron Brant, Faye Bailie, Dan Iselin, Erin Bowden, Emma Li, Blake Butson, Venkat Reddy, Sam Iselin, Enosh Reeder and Eric Wells.
Division 3: 1, Lancaster; 2, Cascade; 3, Bellevue.
Division 3 individual award winners: Lancaster: Brandon Mergen, Evan Straka, Kyla Vaughan, Chet Winkler and Lauren Yearous.
Division 4: 1, River Ridge; 2, Juda; 3, Wauzeka–Steuben.
Division 4 individual award winners: Albany: Logan Ross. Benton: Shane O’Neill. Cashton: Olivia Pieper. Pecatonica: Elizabeth Tisch. River Ridge: Chris Schnitzler, Sam Merkle, Dakari Taifa, Morgan Wheelwright and Sydney Thorson.
