Johnson Public Library Activities
DARLINGTON – The Johnson Public Library has many events for the public to enjoy. The events for March are: March 2 - Story Hour @ 10 a.m.; March 5-9 - Dr. Seuss Week! Different activities every day!; March 6 - Story ‘n’ Craft Hour @ 10 a.m.; March 7 - Children’s Room Closed until Noon; March 8 - Passport to Reading Book Club @ 3:45 p.m. (for grades 1 & 2); March 9 - Story Hour @ 10 a.m./ Pages & Popcorn Book Club @ 1:45 p.m. (for grades 6-8); March 13 - Story ‘n’ Craft Hour @ 10 a.m.; March 13 - Library closes at 3 p.m. today/ 4 p.m. Tea Party with author, Kathleen Ernst, sign up at the library; March 13 - Meet Author Kathleen Ernst, author of the Chloe Ellefson Mysteries!  7 p.m.; March 16 - Story Hour @ 10 a.m./ Book Buzz Book Club @ 1:45 p.m. (grades 3-5).
Food Pantry
DARLINGTON – The monthly Second Harvest Food Pantry will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. The pantry is held in the lower level of Town Bank. There are no income requirements for people wishing to participate. Volunteers are needed from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Volunteers can come for part or all of the pantry to help. To volunteer you can contact Carrie at 608-293-0791 or simply come to the pantry to register as a volunteer the day of the event.

Library Activities
ARGYLE – On Friday, March 2 at 9 a.m. stories & fun for toddlers (age 5) with Meet the Kids. Kriss Marion shares goat-themed stories as well as introducing baby goats! Saturday & Sunday, March 3 & 4 is the Aldo Leopold Storywalk at Erickson Wetland Area in Argyle. Come walk a one-mile out-and-back trail lined with Wisconsin naturalist Aldo Leopold quotes.  This is part of a statewide celebration of Leopold›s “land-ethics”.  More Aldo Leopold information and materials are available at the Argyle Library.  Event co-sponsored by Argyle Public Library & Driftless Area Land Conservancy. 
Immanuel UCC Women’s Guild
DARLINGTON – Immanuel UCC Women’s Guild will be meeting on Monday, March 5 at noon for their Guild Meeting. This is a different date than normal, so remember Monday, March 5. The speaker for the day will be Ann Reuter from the ADRC. Servers will be Debbie Loken, chair; Diane Bredeson, co-chair; Carol Martin, Carrie Blaser, Sue Sauer, Tara Glendenning, Chris Gratz and Sheila Seigert. Everyone is always welcome to join with us.
DEMS Fine Arts Fair
DARLINGTON – The Darlington Elementary/Middle School will host the annual DEMS Fine Arts Fair on Tuesday, March 6 from 6-8 p.m.   Student artwork will be on display throughout the building.  The 3rd graders will perform on their recorders at 6 p.m.  The seventh and eighth grade band and chorus students will perform solos and ensembles in the large group room and cafeteria from 6:00-6:45 p.m.   At 7 p.m., a concert will be performed in the DEMS gym, which will include the 5th and 6th grade band and chorus; and the 7th and 8th grade chorus. The 5th and 6th grade band is directed by Mr. John Bausch and the choirs are directed by Mrs. Tina Schliem.   Artwork on display is from Mrs. Tuescher-Crist’s classes.  Admission to the Fine Arts Fair is free and open the public.
American Legion Meeting
DARLINGTON – Darlington American Legion Post 214 Legion, Auxiliary and SAL members will hold their monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 7 at the Legion Hall.  The meetings will all begin at 7:00 p.m.  There will be discussion on the Post building and other items at the Legion Meeting.  Come join in the meetings and see what is happening at all levels of the Legion Family.  If you are interested in joining the Legion Family, come find out what is happening.
Gratiot Annex Library Activities
GRATIOT – The Gratiot Annex Library will have a Homework Helper every Wednesday in March (7, 14, 21, & 28) from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
McCoy Public Library Activities
SHULLSBURG – Stop on out at the McCoy Public library on March 8 for the Fort Building Family Fun Night for children 3yr-5th grade from 6-7 p.m. On the early release days, March 16 & 28, check out the Early Release Movie for 4K-5th grade at 1:15 p.m. Story Hour for children 3yr-5K will be Tuesday, March 13, 20 & 27 from 4-5 p.m.
UMC Trivia Night
DARLINGTON – The 4th Annual Trivia Fun Night sponsored by the Darlington United Methodist Church will be Saturday, March 10 at 7 p.m at Bridges Restaurant & Banquet Center. Dinner specials start at 5 p.m. and the cake auction will begin around 8 p.m. Bring a team or join one that night. $10 per person with a maximum of 8/team. Early registration special of $75/team. Pre-registration call Todd at 482-0820 or Kurt at 482-2150 by March 3. Registration will be accepted at the door until full.
Driver Opera Unveiling
DARLINGTON – The unveiling of the lower level of the Driver Opera House will be Saturday, March 10 at 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome to see the remodeled area. Refreshments provided.
Steak & Chicken Fry
DARLINGTON – The Darlington American Legion Post #214 & Auxiliary Unit #214 will be hosting their Steak & Chicken Fry on Saturday, March 10 from 4:30-8:30 p.m. at the Darlington Legion Hall. NY Strip is $11, Steak is $9 and Chicken is $8. Carry outs available; in-town delivery for $1 fee. To place your order call 776-4041. Everyone is welcome.
Lafayette County Sew and Sews
DARLINGTON – The meeting of the Lafayette County Sew and Sews is always the 2nd Monday of every month at 6 p.m. in the Community Room at Town Bank in Darlington. The next meeting will be March 12. Everyone is welcome.
Community Blood Drive
LAFAYETTE COUNTY - The American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to resolve to give blood regularly. Sixteen year olds are accepted with parental consent. New donors must bring a photo ID and another form of ID. Severe Weather Safety and Spotter Training
DARLINGTON – There will be a 2018 Severe Weather Safety and Spotter training on Wednesday, March 21 at the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The training is free and open to the public. No registration is needed. The first hour will be about severe weather safety and the second is the spotter training. All are welcome to attend both sessions. The event is sponsored by Lafayette County Emergency Management.
Band Aid X: Tunes n’ Taverns
DARLINGTON – Memorial Hospital Auxiliary presents Band Aid X: Tunes n’ Taverns pub crawl on Friday, March 23 at local bars in Darlington. Participating bars are Legion Hall, Bridgeview, Darlington Country Club, The Spot, Mikes’s Corner Bar, Annies Bar & Grill, Trailside Bar, City Service Brewing, Salathe’s Saloon, and Legends. Wristbands are $25 for all 10 taverns or $5 per Tavern.
