Darlington Food Pantry
DARLINGTON – The monthly Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry will take place on Friday, Oct. 12, from 4-5 p.m. It was changed to this week due to the flooding last week. The Pantry is held in the lower level of Town bank. There are no income requirements for people wishing to participate. Volunteers are needed from 3 to 6 p.m. You may help with all or part of the pantry. To volunteer you may come to the pantry and register as a volunteer or call Carrie at 608-293-0791.
McCoy Public Library
SHULLSBURG –Early Release Movie-Thursday, Oct. 11 from 1:15-3:00 p.m. Popcorn provided, just bring a water. Pumpkin Party-Thursday, Oct. 25 from 6-7 p.m. Families with children age 3-5th grade come enjoy crafts, games and goodies! Trick-or-Treat on Wednesday, Oct. 31 wear your costume into the library for a treat!
Van Matre School Reunion
SOUTH WAYNE – The Van Matre School Reunion will be Saturday, Oct. 13 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Wiota Lutheran Church. It will be potluck style. Everyone who can, please come. We want to see you! For more information contact Judy at 608-482-4527.
Sons of Norway Auction
MONROE – The Sons of Norway Auction will be held Oct. 13 at 1:00 p.m. at the Union Presbyterian Church at 2705 5th Street in Monroe. Stop in to shop for gifts.
Ladies Night Out
DARLINGTON – In honor of breast cancer awareness month, Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County is hosting a ladies night out on Wednesday, Oct. 17 from 4-7 p.m. Nightly mammograms and bone density appointments can be scheduled during this time. Call 608-776-5726 or an appointment. New this year at 6 p.m. there will be a style show. Local vendors, neck massages, paraffin wax dips, mini manicures, snacks and door prizes will be part of the festivities.
DARLINGYON - The Darlington Garden Club will meet Thursday October 18, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. at the Community Room of Town Bank in Darlington. The hostess is Judy Swanson. Connie Ubersox will provide the program. Visitors are welcome.
Community Blood Drive
LAFAYETTE COUNTY - The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center encourages eligible donors to resolve to give blood regularly. Donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types AB, O, B negative and A negative. For questions about eligibility, please call the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center at (800) 747-5401. Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be accepted as eligible donors. The MVRBC is the exclusive provider to Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County.

DFD Gun Banquet
DARLINGTON – The Darlington Fire Department invites you to their annual Gun Banquet Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Darlington Fire Department Fire House, with doors opening at 4 p.m. and dinner being served at 6 p.m. Grand Prize is a 2 night stay at Tanglewood Ranch and Hunt Club for up to 12 people with a 30 bird hunt, guide with dog an a Weatherby Orion over/under 12 gauge. There will be a women’s auction with a chance to win a gun and the youth table will have a variety of prizes. $60 per ticket, which includes meal and chance to win a gun. Witches, Warlocks and Wine
DARLINTON – Enjoy a great night out during Witches, Warlocks and Wine on Wednesday, Oct 24 from 5:00-8:30 p.m. in Darlington. There are only 200 tickets available. Registration will be at the Chamber Office. Don’t miss the Photo Booth and come prepared to win the Costume Contest. With 13 participating business downtown, you will have a ghoulish time.
