LAFAYETTE COUNTY - At a meeting whose sole purpose was to select a replacement for the terminated Nicola Maurer, Finance Director for Lafayette County. The Finance Committee, after several interviews and second-interviews, selected Lindsay VanMatre to fill the position. VanMatre signed an offer of employment and will start April 19.
    Larry Ludlum, Finance Committee member said, “She seemed very eager to start and learn our system.” Joy Galle, Finance Manager and current interim finance person Sandy Russell agreed to help train VanMatre on how the county’s budget system works. Jack Sauer, Lafayette County Board chairman, and the committee thanked Russell and Deb Krahenbuhl for filling in and picking up the slack.
