A Wonewoc man suffered minor injuries Nov. 13 when his car collided with a grain truck at a four-way intersection in Greenwood township south of Hillsboro.

Robert Kimes, 60, refused medical treatment following the accident, which occurred at 3 p.m.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office in Viroqua, Gary Hatfield, 73, of rural Wonewoc was operating a grain truck southbound on Co. Q at the intersection with Co. EE. As Hatfield entered the intersection, he said he did not see Kimes’ eastbound vehicle, and the two collided.

Both vehicles left the road in the southeast corner of the intersection. The grain truck sustained minor damage, and the compact car was severely damaged on the driver’s side.

Hatfield was not injured. Both he and Kimes were wearing seat belts.

The Hillsboro Police Department assisted at the scene.
