The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for Grant, Lafayette and Iowa counties until Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Heat indexes to 102 are possible, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s through the weekend.
Meanwhile, the state Department of Natural Resources issued an air quality advisory statewide through Thursday at noon due to Canadian wildfire smoke.
Air quality is expected to range from Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups to Very Unhealthy as wildfire smoke tracks south and southeast from Minnesota and Ontario.
The DNR said the air quality advisory is likely to be extended to some parts of the state past Thursday morning.
