Driver arrested; passengers cited

One person was arrested and two cited after a traffic stop on U.S. 151.

Melissa Carroll, 30, Platteville, was arrested for operating under the influence of a controlled substance.
Carroll’s passengers, Thomas Ahern and Jamie Tigges, both of Dubuque, were cited for possession of cocaine.

After the traffic stop for an equipment violation Feb. 14 around 12:13 a.m., Grant County K-9 Diego alerted for “a trained odor on the vehicle,” according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies found marijuana, cocaine, and marijuana and cocaine paraphernalia in the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.

• A 28-year-old Platteville man was cited for drunk driving after a crash on Wisconsin 80 south of Livingston.

Anthony Spies was driving Feb. 13 around 2 a.m. when his car went off the west side of the road and overturned, ending up on its side.

Spies was cited for Operating While Intoxicated and failure to keep his vehicle under control.
