One traffic stop, two arrests

The driver of a car was cited for drunk driving, and her passenger was picked up on a warrant Sept. 29.

Celeste Nicole Gavin, 25, Dubuque, was arrested for drunk driving after her car was seen traveling the wrong way on North Oak Street at East Mineral Street around 2:45 a.m.

Gavin was also cited for failure to obey a traffic sign.

Gavin’s passenger, Joshua C. Nickel, 32, Lancaster, was arrested on a warrant.

Nickel was placed on three years probation on charges of forgery and theft of movable property of up to $2,500 in Grant County Circuit Court Jan. 7. Nickel’s probation term included a prohibition on drinking alcohol, according to court records.

•    A 22-year-old Platteville woman was arrested for drunk driving early Friday.

Platteville police stopped a car at Mitchell Avenue and Rountree Avenue around 2:15 a.m. for a defective license plate light, according to police.

Kayla E. Murphy was cited for operating while intoxicated, operating with prohibited alcohol concentration, and operating a vehicle after registration was revoked, suspended or canceled.

•    A 21-year-old Shullsburg man was arrested for drunk driving early Saturday.

Police stopped a car driving the wrong way on Mineral Street at Second Street around 2:15 a.m.

Christen Robert Montgomery was cited for operating while intoxicated, operating with prohibited alcohol concentration and failure to obey a traffic sign.

•    A 19-year-old Potosi woman was ticketed for drunk driving Sept. 29.

Ashley M. Buswell was arrested after Platteville police stopped her car at Main Street and Fourth Street around 4:55 a.m.

Buswell was also warned for not having tail lights. The passenger, Demi R. Kienitz, 20, Platteville, was cited for underage drinking.

•    A 25-year-old Cuba City man was arrested for drunk driving Sept. 29.

Paul Frederick, 25, Cuba City, was arrested after a traffic stop on Wisconsin 80 in the Town of Platteville at 2:15 a.m.
