MUSCODA - Resurfacing operations are scheduled to start on Monday, June 14 along WIS 133 and WIS 80 from Muscoda to east ofAvoca near WIS 130 in Iowa County. Other work activities include pavement markings, upgrading pedestrian curb ramps in Avoca and installing new guardrail along the Wisconsin River. The project will be divided in three segments:
• Pedestrian curb ramp improvements in Avoca will occur from Monday, June 14 to June 21. Motorists should anticipate flagging operations in the area.
• WIS 133, from WIS 130 to Bigelow Hill Road near Avoca, starting Monday, June 21 until early July.
• WIS 133 / WIS 80, from the West County Line near Muscoda to Bigelow Hill Road near Avoca, beginning early July until early August 2021.
During construction of the WIS 133 segment from WIS 130 to Bigelow Hill Road, through traffic will be closed and detoured via WIS 80, WIS 60, US 14, and WIS 130 along the north side of the Wisconsin River. The highway will remain open to local residences and businesses during this stage of the project. During other stages, WIS 133 and WIS 80 between Bigelow Hill Road and Muscoda will be open to traffic with flagging operations. Drivers should be alert and slow down in the work zone.
