Yellow sky at night ...?
lightning
Reader Tom Sigwarth shot this photo of lightning behind a cloud to the west of Platteville.

The settting sun over downtown Platteville July 22 turned out to be a harbinger of unsettled weather throughout most of Hometown Festival Week, with temperatures ranging from cooler than normal to downright cold, with a record low of 50 Sunday, and very variable rainfall. The weather didn’t stop any Hometown Festival events from occurring, though the Family Aquatic Center was closed after the Tom Caccia Invitational Saturday because of cold weather.
