Charlene M. Darcy, age 66 years, of Hillsboro, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013 at her home surrounded by family.
She was born on May 18, 1947 to Alfred and Carmel (Winchel) Johnson at Hillsboro. She grew to adulthood in the Burr Ridge area and graduated from the Hillsboro High School in 1965. Charlene was united in marriage to Randall Darcy on June 20, 1970 in Hillsboro.
Charlene loved her family and friends and spending time with them. She was very active in the community, working at the Farmers State Bank for 42 years and previously at the Bakery and Sewing Factory. She was active in H.O.P.E. as a board member, serving since it was organized, also was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and Altar Society.
Survivors include her husband, Randy; daughters, Kim (Rick) Liska and Dana (John) Rick; granddaughters, Malia and Kiana Liska; brother, Marc Johnson and sister, Rhonda (Andy) Peterson, all of Hillsboro. She was preceded in death by her Parents and a son, Randall Steven Darcy.
Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hillsboro, with Father Don Bauer officiating. Burial was in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Hillsboro. Friends called at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the Church on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. Memorials are preferred to H.O.P.E.
