Jean Salmon, 60, of Blue River died on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua.

She was born on Nov. 2, 1951 in Viroqua, to Doris and Paul Salmon of Arena.

Jean graduated on June 6, 1969 from River Valley High School. She then moved to Madison where she lived for a while. Later she moved to Oklahoma City where she worked in restaurants and factories. She returned to Wisconsin and moved to Blue River to take care of her father.

Jean enjoyed country and gospel music. She loved kids, visiting with family and friends and working on family genealogy. She enjoyed helping people when they needed her and loved going to dances and car races.

Jean is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Fraizer; three brothers, Don and Darrel of Madison and Verlyn of Tucson, Arizona; a special friend, Dale Roth; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and three special cousins, Alda Buxton, Carole Funk and Gerry Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Pamela; two brothers, Eldon and Rodney and also a special uncle, Gerald Buxton.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Kolonasky and nurse Shannon, Pastor Steve Fossum, the Vernon Memorial Hospice, the Sime Funeral Home and the Bethel Home where Jean touched the hearts of so many. Jean felt so blessed to have a loving, caring home at the Bethel Home, everyone was family to Jean.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Bethel Home Activity Room. Pastor Steve Fossum officiated. Friends called from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services.
