Lawrence J. (Larry) Nelson, 76, Aitkin passed away June 5, 2014 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center.  Larry and his wife, Loa, resided in Aitkin in the historic home known as the Patrick Casey residence or Maryhill Academy (formerly the catholic school). The home was frequently opened to the community.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 11 a.m. from the Heartwood Center in Crosby with Chaplain Susan Cline and Rev. Dallas Smith officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin. www.srtfuneral.com
