Mary Ann Mohns, age 74 years, of Elroy, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the Gundersen St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hillsboro, Wisconsin.

She was born on April 21, 1939 to Herman and Margaret (Haun) Brueggeman in rural Cashton, Wisconsin.  She grew up in the Norwalk area and graduated from Norwalk High School.

Mary Ann was united in marriage to Raymond Mohns on June 2, 1962 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norwalk, Wisconsin.  Together they farmed in the Town of Wonewoc, Juneau County, until Ray’s death on June 30, 1974.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elroy.  Mary Ann enjoyed her family and friends and when she was able, she was often busy cooking and baking.  She also enjoyed her cats, playing cards and putting together puzzles.  Gardening was also important and she had a green thumb with flowers.

Survivors include her sister, Jeanice (Donald) Triebs of Elroy; nephews and nieces, Kevin (Dawn) Triebs of Bloomer, Kathy (Pete) Retzlaff of Elroy, Tina (Jon) Juliot of Eau Claire, James (Karen) Brueggeman of Fort Atkinson, John (Debbie) Brueggeman of Marco Island, FL and Johanna Brueggeman of West Salem; and sister-in-law, Theresa Brueggeman of West Salem.

In addition to her husband, Raymond; she was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Duane.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elroy, with Father Dave Bruener officiating.  Burial will be in the Millards Prairie Cemetery, rural Elroy.  Friends may call at the Church on Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m.
