Richard L. “Deacon” Davis, 75, of Platteville died on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Orchard Manor, Lancaster. 
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Pastor Bill Wineke will officiate.  Burial will be at Lima Union Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post #42 and VFW Post #5274.   Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, or after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Richard Davis Memorial Fund.  Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com
