Steven B. Butzler, 52, West Salem, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Health System, La Crosse.

He was born May 10, 1961, in Sparta, to Gerald and Berdella (Geier) Butzler. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Ridge Catholic Church in rural Cashton and continued his strong faith his entire life. He was a 1979 graduate of Cashton High School.

A Funeral Mass was held Saturday, April 26, 2014, at St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, West Salem. Father Bob Hegenbarth officiated. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
