William “Wayne” Bockhop, 79 of Belmont, died on Thursday, Dec. 22, 1016 at Southwest Health Center Hospital, Platteville.  Memorial services were at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016 at the Belmont United Methodist Church, Belmont.  Burial will be at the Belmont Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the William “Wayne” Bockhop Memorial Fund.  Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.
Wayne was born on Aug. 13, 1937 in Oelwein, Iowa, son of Wilbert and Grace (Eustice) Bockhop.  He was united in marriage to Eldeen Doescher on May 14, 1960 in Fennimore.  Wayne graduated from Belmont High School in 1955 and attended UW-Platteville.  He served in the United States Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis.  Wayne drove milk truck for Bockhop Trucking.  He then went to work for the Belmont School District for 31 years retiring in 2002.  He was a founding member of the Belmont EMT’s and was a volunteer fireman for the Belmont Volunteer Fire Department.  He was a member of the Belmont United Methodist Church and the Hinkins-Moody American Legion Post #453, Belmont. Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to Chetek, Wisconsin for many vacations.  He was a Cubs, Packers, and Badgers fan.  Wayne especially enjoyed following his children and grandchildren in all of their sporting events over many years.  
He is survived by his wife, Eldeen of Belmont; two sons, Brad (Mary) Bockhop of Belmont; Brian (Lisa) Bockhop of Dodgeville; five grandchildren, Matt, Molly, Tanner, Tessa and Tarron; brother, Ron (Margaret “Maggie”) Bockhop of Belmont; two sisters, Karen (Roger) Nodorft of Monticello, Minn.; Gayle (Daniel) Speth of Belmont; sisters-in-law, Carol Bockhop of Sturgeon Bay; Nancy Bockhop of Belmont; Kathy Bockhop of Lodi; brother-in-law, Roger (Cindy) Doescher of Baraboo; and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Clifford, Gary “Sparrow”, Mark and Dan Bockhop, and sister, Beverly Lapp.
