Earning medalist honors in her first-ever high school varsity meet was Lancaster freshman Brianna Kirsch, who shot a nine-over-par round of 44 on the par-35 course.

Gracie Walker of Wisconsin Dells was one shot behind with a 45, while Lancaster senior Morgan Cooley finished third with a 48.

Rounding out the top four scores for coach Williams’ squad were senior Sarah Farrey with a 53 and junior Claire Schmidt with a 58. Also competing on the varsity squad was junior Hannah Pierce, who shot a 64.

The Lancaster junior varsity squad shot a team score of 239, led by freshman Kate McWilliams, who shot a 58. Playing as a junior varsity alternate, senior Emma Addison shot an impressive round of 53.

This past Monday mornings meet at Prairie du Chien had been postponed due to rain, and has been rescheduled for Friday, Sept. 11, with a 3 p.m. start.

This Thursday afternoon the Flying Arrows will compete at Trappers Turn hosted by Wisconsin Dells, then next Tuesday will be at home on the Lancaster Municipal Golf Course. Both meets begin at 4 p.m.

Coach Williams returns eight golfers from last year’s squad, and welcomes in four newcomers. Gone is Lindsey Wolf, who is the only graduate from last year’s team.
