Four members of the Hillsboro cross country team earned All-SBC honors at the Scenic Bluffs Conference Cross Country Championships on Oct. 16.
The top 10 finishers in both the boys’ and girls’ races were named all-conference.
Hillsboro freshman sensation Annie Haas won the girls’ individual SBC title in a time of 22:14 and earned first-team all-conference honors. She was the only Hillsboro girl to earn All-SBC status.
Haas went on to become the first Hillsboro freshman to ever qualify for the state meet. She finished 32nd out of 150 runners with a season-best 5K time of 20:43.69 at the girls’ Division 3 state championships in Wisconsin Rapids.
Meanwhile, sophomore Zach O’Hair, junior Skyler Fisher and senior Avery Rueckheim earned all-conference honors for the Hillsboro boys.
O’Hair finished seventh at the conference meet at 20:37. Fisher placed ninth at 21:41, and Rueckheim was close behind in 10th at 21:44.
Brookwood’s Dylan Smith won the boys’ individual conference title with a time of 18:40.
