Track team closes out regular season at Boscobel
Boys finish sixth out of 20 teams

BOSCOBEL — Juniors Max Sebranek and Matt Bartels recorded standout performances at Friday’s Sparky Reynolds Boscobel Invitational to lead the Hillsboro boys’ track team to a sixth-place finish at the 20-team meet.

Sebranek won the 300 hurdles in 41.23 seconds and placed second in the 110 hurdles (16.33).

Bartels won the 200 (23.01), finished second in the long jump (19–3) and third in the 100 (11.74).

The boys’ 4x800 relay team of Logan Rohn, Noah Mayberry, Spencer Treu and Layne Hammer finished fourth in 8:37.14.
Rohn also finished sixth in the 3,200 (10:27.94).

The Hillsboro boys scored 54 points to finish behind Dodgeville/Mineral Point (97), Lancaster (94), Darlington (62), Richland Center (59.5) and Prairie du Chien (57).

The Hillsboro girls scored 14 points and placed 17th. Dodge–Point won the girls title with 122 points.

Senior Kelsey Taylor turned in the Lady Tigers’ top individual performance with a fifth place finish in the 3,200 (13.18.1).

Freshman Breanna Beaver placed eighth in the 800 (2:40.99).

Hillsboro’s 4x400 and 4x800 relays both finished fifth.

The Tigers traveled to Royall on Tuesday for the Scenic Bluffs Conference Meet. Results will be in next week’s Sentry Enterprise.

Hillsboro will return to action Monday at the WIAA Division 3 Cashton Regional.
