BLACK HAWK pitcher Hannah Butler fires a pitch to a batter during Mondays Six Rivers East contest against Pecatonica. Butler earned the victory in the circle and bashed a three-run home run in the 13-2 Warriors win.

SOUTH WAYNE — With sisters Hannah and Bailey Butler leading the way in the pitcher’s circle and at the plate, the Black Hawk Warriors softball team got on a roll on the diamond and posted three victories over a trio of Six Rivers Conference foes.
The Lady Warriors (5-3 overall, 4-3 SRC) started off with a 10-4 win over Argyle at home on Tuesday, April 24, and then hit the road to Patch Grove to defeat River Ridge/Cassville by a score of 10-2 on Thursday, April 26. The Warriors returned to their home field on Monday, April 30, and whipped up on the Pecatonica Vikings, 13-2, in five innings for their third victory in a row.
Sophomore Hannah Butler posted a pair of wins in the pitcher’s circle, yielding one earned run and striking out six batters in the decision over the Orioles last Tuesday and surrendering just one earned run while fanning five in the decision over the Vikings on Monday. She also helped her own cause by blasting a two-run home run and driving in three runs in Monday’s win.
Freshman Bailey Butler shut down the Timberwolves on Thursday, giving up two runs on six hits and two walks with six Ks to earn the win, and she went 2-for-4 at the plate with a three-run home run in that game. B. Butler also was 2-for-4 with four runs scored and a RBI in Monday’s game.
Senior Cheyenne Stewart also drilled a home run against the Vikings, while senior Hannah Herbst scored three times for the Warriors.
Natalie Leuzinger drove in three runs against the T’Wolves. Stewart, Mia Jackson and Maddy Huschitt each had two hits and drove in a run against Argyle.
Black Hawk has a Six Rivers crossover game at Highland on Friday, May 4, and then returns home to host Monticello on Monday, May 7, and Juda/Albany on Tuesday, May 8. All three games are set for 5 p.m.
