CUBA CITY — Iowa–Grant junior Nick Connolly became the first Panther to win an individual cross country conference title when he won the boys championship last Thursday at Cole Acres Golf Course in Cuba City.

Connolly, a two-year state qualifier, raced to the front at the start and dominated the race throughout winning individual medalist honors with a time of 16:45.8, to lead the Panthers finish second behind the Boscobel boys (ranked #2 in Division 3), 38–70. The second place finish was the best by an Iowa–Grant boys team at conference, since they placed second in 2003.
