With Southwest Wisconsin Conference wins over Platteville, Richland Center and River Valley, the Lancaster varsity softball team improved to 5-0 in league action and 11-1 overall.

The Flying Arrows dominated all three of their opponents this past week, winning by a combined score of 35-6.

Against host Platteville last Tuesday, coach Jeff Pross and his squad used 14 hits to collect a 10-3 victory.

Ella Marcue led the way with a 2-for-3 hitting performance that included one RBI and two runs scored.

Stephanie Tranel and Tiffany Leeser each went 2-for-4 in the game, each also having one RBI and one run scored.

Coming in at 2-for-5 with two RBIs and one run scored was Kate Noble, while Andrea Duncan also went 2-for-5 and had one RBI.

Duncan also collected the win in the pitching circle after allowing three runs, two earned, off eight hits. She struck out five batters and did not walk any.

Two nights later, the Arrows used just five innings to dispose of visiting Richland Center, 11-1.

Lancaster pounded out 12 total hits, while holding the Hornets to just three.

Leeser led the group with a perfect 4-for-4 outing that also netted her a whopping six RBIs and two runs scored.

The junior catcher hit a three-run homer in the first inning, a one-run double in the fourth and a two-run double in the fifth.

Going 3-for-4 on the night was Noble, who scored four runs and had three RBIs on a home run of her own in the second inning.

In the pitching circle, Duncan limited Richland Center to just one earned run off three hits, while striking out five batters and walking one.

This past Monday in Spring Green, the Arrows used 11 hits and took advantage of three River Valley errors to come home with a 14-2 victory.
