Five members of the Cuba City-Southwestern wrestling team have extended their season by qualifying for the Division 2 Richland Center Sectional to be held this Saturday.
Of the five moving on, three collecting individual regional titles last Saturday at the D2 River Valley Regional, while the other two finished as runners up.
Sophomore J.J. Donar captured the 113-pound title, while senior Jarod Donar took first at 138 pounds and senior Scott Digman was tops at 152.
J.J. Donar improved to 37-5 on the season after beating Dodgeville's Austin DeVoss in the championships by a score of 10-1.
Jarod Donar pinned both of his opponents last Saturday, including Jasper Meeker of Dodgeville in his championship match.
Donar now has a season record of 40-0 and is on the right path to collect his fourth state title.
At 152 pounds, Digman collected a 9-5 decision over Brandon Hogan of River Valley in the championships, giving him a season record of 32-4.
Fellow senior Zach Guerin (22-18) placed second in the 106-pound weight class, but will be moving on, after being pinned by Taylor Elliott of Prairie du Chien.
Junior Forrest Thill also moves on after his second-place finish in the 182-pound weight class.
Thill (25-14) suffered a 26-11 technical fall against Dusty Jentz of Belmont-Platteville in his first-place match.
Ending their season at last Saturday's regional meet were Marcus Theill (12-21), Lucas Kastner (12-13), Dusty Brant (3-4), Jacob Droeszler (3-7) and Cal Grutz (2-2).
