PLATTEVILLE — Through the latter parts of Platteville’s six-game boys basketball losing streak, there were signs the Hillmen were playing as intended some of the time.
In the Jan. 14 63–57 loss to Madison Edgewood, for instance, the Hillmen overcame a 13-point first-half deficit to take a lead before the Crusaders finished off the Hillmen with a 14–0 run.
Two nights later, the Hillmen ended their losing streak emphatically with a resounding 56–34 win over Richland Center for Platteville’s first Southwest Wisconsin Conference win (1–3), dropping the Hornets out of a tie for second place in the SWC.
Two nights after that, the Hillmen started a winning streak by beating Poynette 49–47, improving the Hillmen record to 3–10.
