Platteville CC teams finish 2nd at conference; eight Hillmen earn All-SWC honors

Senior Brittani Meis finished second at the SWC Cross Country Championships Thursday, Oct. 17 to lead the Platteville girls to a second place team finish.

PLATTEVILLE — Eight Platteville runners earned All-Southwest Wisconsin Conference honors on their home course at the SWC Championships Thursday afternoon at UW–Platteville’s Veteran’s Memorial Park. Both Platteville teams finished second. The Platteville girls finished 11 points behind three-time defending champion Lancaster, 45–56.

The Platteville boys finished seven points back of Dodgeville/Mineral Point, 38–45. A year ago, the Hillmen defeated the Dodgers to win the 2018 SWC boys’ title. 

Platteville senior Brittani Meis raced to a second-place finish in the girls’ race, crossing the finish line at 19:31.3, five seconds behind Lancaster sophomore Bridee Burks (19:26.2).
