Ron and Judy Wright will soon be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on April 20, 1963 at Kenwood United Methodist Church in Milwaukee, but have lived in Lancaster most of their married life.
The couple met soon after college in 1962.  Both were employed by UW-Extension and were attending a State annual meeting in Madison. At that time, Ron was working at Grant County Extension and Judy at Winnebago County Extension.
Soon after they were married, Ron began a new career at the Lancaster State Bank as their Agriculture Representative and later started his own business in real estate, insurance, and appraising.   At this time, Judy worked at the Grant County UW-Extension Office and later enjoyed being a “stay-at-home mom” before resuming her career. In 2001, she retired after working for the Grant County Aging and Disability Resource Center as the Nutrition Program Coordinator.
They have four children and 12 grandchildren: Carol (David) Thole and their children Collin, Logan and Lauren; David (Brenda) Wright and their children Tyler, Trevor and Hannah; Steven (Lisa) Wright and their children Rebecca and Ryan; and Laura (Robert) Gruber and their children Peyton, Zach, Alex and Ashley.
The family is planning a special dinner on April 20 and will host an Open House on April 21 from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. No formal invitation are being sent. Friends and relatives are invited to attend the Open House. (No presents please.)
