Alex Bird and Sarah Marquis of Gratiot are the proud parents of a daughter, Leigha Chevelle Bird, born Jan. 2, 2015 at the Monroe Clinic in Monroe. Leigha weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce and was 21 inches long.
    Grandparents are Terri Bird of Gratiot and the late Ken Bird and Paul and Karen Marquis of South Wayne. Great-grandparents are Judy and George Marquis of East Peoria, Ill., and the late Cecil and Esther Griffiths.
