Digman Construction has pledged $5,000 in kind to assist the Platteville Community Arboretum in matching the City of Platteville’s grant of $50,000 for improvements to the Rountree Branch recreational trail and to replace the trail bridge.

Digman Construction’s donation will be used for PCA’s “3 for $100K” project.  The project’s priorities include replacement of the bridge nearest Business 151 and Valley Road, realignment of the trail to accommodate the newly constructed trail on Valley Road, and removing the set of stairs that limit accessibility to individuals with disabilities, strollers, and bikes.

“The Platteville Community Arboretum board wants to make these improvements to make the trail more accessible and we are happy to help in getting this done,” said Digman Construction’s Bob Digman. “Hopefully others will feel the same as we do and join in contributing to this effort.”

“We are very thankful for Bob’s  generous contribution,” said Rand Atkinson, PCA coordinator. “As a PCA board director and giving citizen of Platteville, Bob has been very supportive of the Arboretum and many other city projects. Our PCA membership as a whole has responded with donations as well ranging from $10 to $1000.  With over 17 percent — over $8,500 —  received from our membership, we are well positioned to begin our local business and resident funding appeal.”

PCA is a tax exempt 501(c)(3) public charity. To donate to the PCA “3 for $100K” project, send a check to the PCA, P.O. Box 302, Platteville, WI  53818.  Online donations may be made at www.plattevillearboretum.org/Donations.html.
